MTV2’s Bellator 37 Ratings Plunge

MMANEWS.COM Staff Writer Ratings for Bellator’s fourth season have been less than stellar for MTV2. Unfortunately, the latest event to air on MTV2 - Bellator 37 – drew the smallest numbers of the season, picking up only 173,000 viewers. While MTV2 may not have the viewing base of MTV, that’s still a surprisingly low number. The first two shows hosted by MTV2 each garnered over 200,000 viewers, with Bellator 36 peaking at 230,000 viewers (the replay drew a network high 241,000 viewers). There is however good reason for the dip in viewership. Bellator 37 was forced to content with the NCAA basketball tournament as well as the UFC’s latest preliminary face-book bouts, which are gaining followers with each event. MMAjunkie.com was the first media outlet to confirm the ratings drop. |
