The Problem With The Anthony Johnson vs. Dan Hardy Fight

Yes, it was a good fight, and yes, Anthoy Johnson should have got the win. No doubt about it.

But the problem is that since fighters know they can win through a decision, it affects their technique too much.

Anthony Johnson did try to submit Dan Hardy towards the end of the fight, but through the later half of the first round (after the head kick), the entire second round, and the first half of the third, he mostly tried to keep Hardy down, not really trying to do anything to him, since he knew he would win the fight just like this.

The crowd got restless, as did I, but of course, it's not Johnson's job to keep the crowd happy. His job is to win, which he did.

The rules should be changed to make it so ...

I agree
They should give yellow cards for lack of action like they did in Pride. Your going to try a lot harder for the finish if there's a threat of losing money from your pay check.

i agree
i completly agree with joshua for some reason the public expects every single fight to be a legandary knock out reel fight and thats rediculous. The only thing that i can find reasonable for people to be mad about is the fact that rumble said previosly that there is no way it would go to the ground.

non sense
This post is a fail, not every fight is going to be fire works, when you match a guy who has great wrestling against someone who sucks at it your going to have a boring fight most of the time unless there is some serious g&p or sub attempts. you can't make rules to stop this from happening and if there was it would ruin the sport basically saying using wrestling isn't fair. Bottom line its the ref's job to stand the fighters up and keep them busy if they are not working on the ground.
