Come Sunday night the Bradley Center in Milwaukee will host UFC Live 5. The card, which falls short of the caliber billing expected of a pay-per-view event is still rather impressive, with a strong lineup of potentially competetive clashes.

In the evenings main event, standout strikers Chris Lytle and Dan Hardy will toe the line in an effort to determine the superior fighter. the undercard however boasts plenty of intriguing duels that could bare significant future implications.

Amongst those competing are Jim Miller, Ben Henderson, Donald Cerrone and Amir Sadollah. While few (Jim Miller) are on the cusp of legitimate contendership, all are just about guaranteed to put on quite a thrilling show.

Donald Cerrone vs. Charles Oliveira: This is one of the more enthralling bouts of the event. Donald is a dangerous striker with excellent range, devastating kicks and a solid beard. Oliveira on the other hand is known for his lethal submission attack. He’s refining his striking skills, but at this point, I’d have to consider him the inferior standup fighter.

One of two things will happen in this relatively pivotal lightweight bout. Either Oliveira will catch Cerrone cold and sink a submission, or “The Cowboy” will methodically batter “do Bronx” over the course of three rounds, earning himself a decisive decision victory. I’m inclined to believe Cerrone’s edge in vicious battle experience results in the latter scenario.

Duane Ludwig vs. Amir Sadollah: This fight has fireworks all over it. We’re dealing with two superb, technically sound strikers who will seek the finish if the opening presents itself. Amir is the more conservative of the two, but he’s also got more tools on his belt to fall back on.

Ludwig will look to render you unconscious as soon as possible, but he lacks the wrestling and jiu-jitsu game to give Amir many problems, which will eventually spell bad news for “Bang”.

Expect some early fireworks from these two, with both likely being rocked at some point, before Amir uses his fight IQ to take full advantage of his wrestling and submission game.

I expect blood, staggering punches, kicks and elbows, but ultimately I see Amir securing a submission victory midway through the bout. Call me crazy, but I see either an arm-triangle choke, or a triangle choke from the mount position.

Jim Miller vs. Ben Henderson: If there’s a fight with massive question marks looming, it’s this one. Henderson has looked absolutely animalistic, while retaining a controlled approach to his offense. Jim Miller, in contrast, comes forward constantly, mixing up strikes in order to setup relentless takedowns.

The ultimate factor in this fight may come down to submission defense. It’s not a stretch to say that Henderson will catch Jim in a few tricky positions. If Miller can muscle out of potentially detrimental positions, he’s going to earn a unanimous decision. If he can’t we may well see Miller secure a surprising submission victory.

I’m picking Miller to fight intelligently and earn enough points to exit the cage with a decision win.
