MMANEWS.COM Staff Writer The following are results from the official weigh-ins for Saturday's UFC 137: "Penn vs. Diaz" event, which emanates from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and airs live on Facebook.com, Spike TV and pay-per-view. Spike TV Preliminary Fights: -Bart Palaszewski (146 lbs.) vs. Tyson Griffin (149 lbs.)* -Donald Cerrone (156 lbs.) vs. Dennis Siver (155 lbs.) Pay-Per-View Fights: -George Roop (145 lbs.) vs. Hatsu Hioki (145 lbs.) -Jeff Curran (134 lbs.) vs. Scott Jorgensen (135 lbs.) -Roy "Big Country" Nelson (252 lbs.) vs. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic (235 lbs.)** -Matt Mitrione (255 lbs.) vs. Cheick Kongo (234 lbs.) -Nick Diaz (170 lbs.) vs. B.J. Penn (169 lbs.)*** * Tyson Griffin weighed in at 149 lbs. for his first attempt. Griffin is being given one hour to lose three pounds. ** Roy Nelson weighed in officially at 252, but was wearing some sort of fat suit, so his actual weight is technically unknown, I suppose. *** During the Diaz-Penn staredown, Diaz ducked his head down, pushed it into Penn's head and the two had a pull-apart, including Diaz somewhat swatting at Penn's face with his hand. Diaz immediately left, not sticking around for the typical post-weigh in interview. Penn remained on stage, but gave a quick one-sentence response in his interview. Intense stuff! UPDATE: Tyson Griffin fails to make weight. Bart Palaszewski agrees to 148-pound catch weight bout.
