WEC standout Kamal Shalorus will be looking to notch his first UFC victory when he welcomes promotional neophyte, Khabib Nurmagomedov to the fold at UFC on FX 1.

Shalorus has proven to be a strong, durable fighter, racking up seven victories against only a single loss and two draws. He’s already battled some noteworthy opposition, including Jim Miller, Jamie Varner and Bart Palaszewski. However, he’s been on the shelf since March, and he’ll be tangling with a promising, but little known newcomer.

Nurmagomedov have posted 16 wins in 16 professional bouts. He’s spent the majority of his career fighting for Russian promotions, where he’s stopped 12 of his opponents by submission, knockout or technical knockout.

UFC on FX 1 airs on January 20th; the action is slated to emanate from Nashville. The remainder of the card is still being assembled.
