Posted on Dec 12, 2011
Jones remained a step ahead of Machida as the second round unraveled. Eventually able to take Machida to the canvas, Jones opened a nasty gash on the forehead of Machida. It marked a definitive change in momentum, as though he was able to get back to his feet, Machida was no longer the same fighter. He’d slowed down, a bit, and ate a crisp left hand for it, which sent him crashing to the canvas. A scramble ensued and Jones found himself in control of a tight guillotine choke. Just moments later and “The Dragon” was collapsing face first into the canvas. Jon “Bones” Jones remains the light heavyweight champion of the world.

It was an amazing evening that will likely reverberate in the minds of fans for years to come. knockouts, submissions, grueling was and horrific finished. What more could a MMA ask for?
