Newly crowned UFC Lightweight Champion Ben Henderson could possibly be facing a familiar foe when he defends the title for the first time as it is expected he could face Anthony Pettis, who was also victorious this past weekend at UFC 144.

Ironically enough, Pettis defeated Henderson in the final WEC Lightweight title fight which earned him a shot at the UFC title. Injuries and circumstances lead to Pettis's shot being put on the back burner and saw Henderson work his way into a title shot which he ultimately won.

“I think he’s gonna get it,” UFC President Dana White stated following the event from Japan when asked about Pettis, who stopped Joe Lauzon earlier in the night with an impressive head kick KO. Pettis also picked up knock out of the night for that performance.

“It means the world to me. I was supposed to get a title shot last year, that didn’t happen the way it was supposed to, and I just came back focused and I’m ready to go,” Pettis said after his win.

“Henderson did his thing tonight and we have some unfinished business. Let’s take care of it.”
