The lineup for One FC 5 “Pride of a Nation” is already looking rather impressive. Two former UFC champions will compete on the bill, as once feared UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski (17-9) will meet fellow UFC veteran Soa Palelei (17-3) in a featured heavyweight bout, and former lightweight title holder Jens Pulver (26-16-1) will toe the line against unbeaten Eric Kelly (7-0).

Arlovski hit a vicious skid recently, dropping four consecutive bouts before rebounding with a pair of stoppage victories under the ProElite banner. Palelei in contrast seems to have found a second career wind: he’s amassed a 9-1 record over his past 10 outings. His lone defeat came at the hands of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner, Daniel Cormier.

Jens Pulver has continued to struggle with father time. The once terrifying lightweight has nabbed just four wins in his last 10 bouts.

One FC 5 takes place on August 31st at Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City. Former Dream champions Shinya Aoki and Bibiano Fernandes are both expected to make their promotional debuts.
