MMANEWS.COM Staff Writer UFC 150 just took a major hit, as the highly anticipated middleweight bout pitting Yushin Okami against Heel Hook savant Rousimar Palhares has officially been axed. Palhares has suffered an undisclosed injury. Stepping in for the dangerous Brazilian will be Buddy Roberts, who was initially scheduled to tangle with Chris Camozzi. However, Camozzi has coincidentally suffered injury as well, which leaves the obvious and aforementioned match to make: Yushin Okami versus Buddy Roberts. UOL Esporte initially broke the news, which has now been confirmed by UFC officials. "I was crazy to fight not 100 percent in shape," Palhares told UOL Esporte. "It would be a great fight for me, trying to win again. Every bout is the greatest of my career, but this time I can’t fight. When you don’t go well for a fight, as I did in my last, you pay for your mistake. The injury happened two weeks ago, but we tried to work and see if it would be possible to fight. Last Friday, though, I had to stop. I’m already recovering with physical therapy and I’ll undergo further exams to know if it needs surgery or not." For Okami, the fallout signifies just one more adjustment in his game planning. Roberts will be the third scheduled opponent for the Japanese standout. He was originally scheduled to fight Luiz Cane, who withdrew allowing Palhares a shot, who is now - sadly - out of contention for this specific bout. UFC 150 takes place at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado on August 11th. The main event boasts a lightweight title rematch between champion Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar.
