According to a report on MMAWeekly.com, Middleweight fighter Dean Lister has been released by the UFC but the report states that it was Lister who asked for the release him his contract. In his last UFC bout he lost what has been called a very boring decision to Yushi Okami. He earned $19,000 for his efforts.

"The Boogeyman" holds an 11-6 record with nine of his wins coming via submission. He has never been finished with all six losses coming by way of decision.

The MMAweekly.com report also states that Lister has Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza of DREAM and Sengoku middleweight champion Jorge Santiago in his sight which could lead to a return to Japan for the grappling wizard. He has fought in Japan before going 1-2 in the Pride organization.
