Unfortunately there was a long wait to get on this call so I got on it a little late. I'll pick up where I entered into the call...
-Gary Shaw says that he has talks with Fedor but can not approach Randy Couture until he knows he is out of the UFC.
-Says he would sign the deal in a heart beat.
-Frank says that he thinks a fight with Tito Ortiz is a great idea. Confirms he has been talking to Tito. Says 10 years after he whooped him he will whoop him again. Sounds very confident that he would "destroy" Tito.
-Frank being Frank says that he has so many belts now that he doesn't even know where to put them. Gary Shaw interrupts him tell everyone that right now Franks biggest fight with Cung Le and says that there are lots of other big fights out there for Frank Shamrock. Shaw wants everyone to know that its more about big fights for him than it is for belts.
-Drew Fickett says that he expects an exciting fight with lots of scrambling and expects that both of them will push each other further than they have before.
-Jake Sheilds is asked if Drew is his toughest opponent and he makes mention of the fact that he has fought guys like Yushin Okami and Kazuo Misaki and he puts Fickett up on their level.
-Cung Le talks about how this is the biggest fight that has happened in San Jose and can't wait to get in there against Frank Shamrock.
-Frank is asked about Ken Shamrocks last performance and says that he wasn't impressed with it and thinks that Ken might not have the heart of the Lion anymore.
-Gary Shaw chimes in to tell Frank that Ken has told him that he has enough left in the tank to take Franks ass
-Frank is asked why he would want to stand with Cung le and he says that at this point in his career he wants to have a challenge and although it might be dangerous he is competing in a dangerous sport. Feels like Cung is not prepared for an MMA striking match
-Cung Le calls this comment a smoke screen and that he may test the waters but he'll eventually try and take him down.
-Shamrock says that any rumors that Cung Le kicked his ass in sparring sessions are 100% true. Reason being they trained at San Shou and Frank says he sucks at it.
-Frank breaks down the 3 hours before his fights. Light meal, nap, drives to arena, checks in, reads, says Hi to everyone, and in the last hour he warms up and prepares his mind.
-Frank says that he noticed the sport changing to a striking sport around '99 and says that he honed his skills from that point forward so that he would be prepared for a fight like this one with Cung Le.
-Frank says that he doesn't think that Anderson Silva may be one of the best fighters in the world but he does not not think that he is the very best. Says that UFC does not have the best fighters and Frank says he is 100% confident that if he ran into Anderson Silva than people would be calling him the best fighter in the world again.
-Gary Shaw chimes in again to let everyone know that Frank is the best fighter in the world.
-Cung Le says that this is going to be one helluva fight card and it's great that it is stacked up.
-Gary Shaw says that there will be a CBS press release coming out tomorrow that will release the first show date and some of the fighters on the card. Says that this will be a huge announcement and lots of things are going to be announced in it.
-Gary Shaw is asked about Arlovski and says that there are alot of free agent fighters out there that he would love to sign to EXC to fight on Showtime and CBS.
-Shaw thinks that this fight may have more heat than the Shamrock/Baroni fight.
-Fickett was asked if it worries him that his first fight in the EXC is a title fight and says that he is more excited to be fighting Jake than it being for a title.
-Shields says that the feeling he had after his first loss sucked and at that point he really started to take things seriously.
-Shaw says that it could be a possibility of seeing Gilbert Melendez fighting KJ Noons at some point.
-Shaw was asked about an update on Gina Carano and Robbie Lawler and he said to just wait until tomorrow when the CBS release comes out.
-Gary Shaw is asked "what kind of bread is Kimbo making?" Gary answers by saying he gets white bread and sometimes they give him wholegrain bread to make sure he is healthy. Shaw says that he does not discuss what people are making but if you work with EXC you get treated like a royal prince.
-Cung Le says that he thanks Frank for giving him a shot and says win or lose this will be a big fight for him.
-Frank thanks everyone and says that this card is what MMA is suppose to be about.
