PRELIM FIGHTS

Fight #1:
-Sam Stout vs. Per Eklund

Round 1: Pretty boring first round. Eklund looked for takedowns, but Stout wasn't having it as he defended them all and took Eklund down at one point himself. Stout landed some elbows from the top, and should easily have the round 10-9.

Round 2: Second round looks similar to the first. Stout is defending takedowns and gets Eklund down and top position himself again. Eklund worked for an armbar from the bottom but Stout got out and stood back up. As the round ended, we got our first chorus of boo's from the UK fans. 10-9 Stout.

Round 3: Stout defending takedowns and landing accurate punches on the feet in the third. He continued to display great takedown defense, but didn't do much to excite anyone with his performance. He should have it 30-27 across the board.

Sam Stout def. Per Eklund via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-27) after 3 Rounds.

Fight #2:
-Alessio Sakara vs. James Lee

Round 1: Lee with a takedown attempt early in the first. He bulls Sakara against the cage and gets him down. Sakara stands back up however. Repeat - Lee takes Sakara down again and Sakara gets up immediately again. During another takedown attempt, Sakara starts blasting away at Lee and punches until the referee stops the action. Lee is claiming he's injured. Either way, Sakara wins.

Alessio Sakara def. James Lee via TKO (strikes) at 1:30 of Round 1.

Fight #3:
-Paul Taylor vs. Paul Kelly

Round 1: Crazy, wild start in round one. The two flurried back and forth like lunatics until Taylor pulls guard looking to secure a guillotine choke but Kelly eventually escaped. Taylor is elbowing from the bottom on the ground and looking for another guillotine. Kelly defends well and is controling position and action in round one. Should be 10-9 Kelly in the first.

Round 2: Taylor with a quick takedown in the second. Taylor takes Kelly's back and is looking for the rear naked choke. Kelly escapes and is now on top and throwing down punches. Taylor is staying active on the bottom, working short elbows and arm punches. Taylor tries a kimura but doesn't finish the job. Tough round to call, we'll go 10-9 Kelly.

Round 3: Round three was another solid round of action from the Paul's. Kelly out-wrestled Taylor and had top position for most of the round. As was the case in one and two, Taylor stayed busy on the bottom and landed some good shots. Round ends and it should be a clean sweep for Kelly.

Paul Kelly def. Paul Taylor via Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) after 3 Rounds.

Fight #4:
-Antoni Hardonk vs. Colin Robinson

Round 1: That was a quick one. Hardonk started with a few solid knees to the body and some leg kicks. A few punches later and seventeen ticks on the clock and Hardonk wins his fight.

Antoni Hardonk def. Colin Robinson via TKO (ref stoppage) at 0:17 of Round 1.

PPV FIGHTS

Fight #5:
-Kendall Grove vs. Jorge Rivera

Round 1: Rivera lands a good shot and takes Grove down. Grove immediately looks to sweep but Rivera is defending well. Rivera is in Grove's half guard landing big punches. Grove turns his back and Rivera is hammering down as Grove stands up. Rivera immediately drops Grove and gets the knockout victory.

Jorge Rivera def. Kendall Grove via KO (punch) at 1:20 of Round 1.

Fight #6:
-Jason Lambert vs. Wilson Gouveia

Round 1: Lambert goes for a takedown attempt and Gouveia uses it to slap on a guillotine choke. Lambert escapes and is on top in Gouveia's guard throwing down punches. Gouveia throws his legs up for a submission, but Lambert brushes it off. Thus far, Gouveia is doing a good job of avoiding punishment (no pun intended) from the bottom. Lambert stands up and tries diving into a better top position but ends up back in Gouveia's guard. Gouveia trips Lambert as he stands up again and uses it to get to his feet as well. Both are standing now with Lambert immediately taking Gouveia back down. Gouveia looking for a guillotine as he goes down, but Lambert escapes quickly and is in Gouveia's half guard. Gouveia regains full guard. Lambert stands up and Gouveia slaps on a triangle choke. He's looking to tighten it now and now switches to an oma plata. Lambert escapes and remains on top in Gouveia's full guard. Little over a minute left in the round. Good punch from the top by Lambert followed by some short elbows. Gouveia holds on and the action slows down as the round rides out. Should be 10-9 Lambert, despite the submission attempts from Gouveia.

Round 2: Long break between rounds as Gouveia's corner can't find his mouth-piece. They finally get it and after about an extra minute between rounds we begin the second. We're clinched against the cage now with little in-striking going on. Out of nowhere Gouveia lands a monsterous left hook that floors Lambert.

Wilson Gouveia def. Jason Lambert via KO (punch) at 0:37 of Round 2.

Fight #7:
-Marcus Davis vs. Jess Liaudin

Round 1: Good leg kicks from Liaudin early. Davis with a good punch. Another good kick from Liaudin. Davis with a solid body kick. Davis lands a solid bomb and drops Liaudin. Liaudin is out cold.

Marcus Davis def. Jess Liaudin via KO (punch) at 1:04 of Round 1.

Fight #8:
-Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Fabricio Werdum

Round 1: Gonzaga gets Werdum down early. Gonzaga in Werdum's half guard throwing some punches and elbows. Werdum gets full guard back, but Gonzaga gets back to his feet. Gonzaga with a few leg kicks, one that put Werdum down (sweeping his legs out from under him). Werdum bull-rushes and gets the takedown and ends up in Gonzaga's half guard. Werdum lands some elbows and attempts a kneebar but time expired.

Round 2: Werdum lands some punches to open the second frame. Gonzaga defends a Werdum takedown attempt. Gonzaga still utilizing his leg kicks on Werdum. Werdum with some solid knees to Gonzaga's face. Gonzaga is against the cage now and Werdum is landing big shots. Gonzaga drops down and Werdum jumps on and pounds away to a non-defending Gonzaga, prompting the ref to call a hault to the action.

Fabricio Werdum def. Gabriel Gonzaga via TKO (ref stoppage, strikes) at 4:34 of Round 2.

Fight #9:
-B.J. Penn vs. Joe Stevenson (UFC LW Title)

Round 1: Penn starts off strong bull-rushing Stevenson and landing some big punches that puts Stevenson down. Penn jumps into Stevenson's half-guard and lands a big elbow. Penn gets Stevenson up against the cage, on the ground, and takes full mount. Stevenson gets his half guard back. Penn stands up and is coming down hard with punches before jumping into side-mount. Stevenson working punches from the bottom and gets his full guard back. Penn lands an elbow that cuts Stevenson. Stevenson is bleeding incredibly bad. Almost as bad as Stevenson's cut of Yves Edwards. Easy round for Penn.

Round 2: Stevenson looks pissed and is coming out like a mad-man. Penn avoiding Stevenson's onslaught and is still picking him apart with strikes. Stevenson's cut is bleeding to the point where we get a stoppage to check the cut. Penn still out-working Stevenson on the feet as the fight resumes. Big punch from Penn has Stevenson down again. Penn follows in and gains full mount. Penn lands a big right hand that forces Stevenson to turn his back. Penn takes the back, slaps on the rear naked choke and Stevenson quickly taps. B.J. Penn is the second ever fighter in UFC history to hold a title in two different weight classes.

B.J. Penn def. Joe Stevenson via Submission (rear naked choke) at 4:02 of Round 2 to become the UFC Lightweight champion.
