Pat Curran vs. Patricio Freire II To Headline Bellator 123 In September

Following their initial meeting in January of 2013 at Bellator 85, where Bellator Featherweight Champion Pat Curran (20-5) defeated top-ranked contender Patricio “Pitbull” Freiere (21-2) via split-decision, the two have apparently verbally agreed to terms for a rematch planned for later this year.

The news was first reported by Brazilian media outlet and a formal announcement from Bellator is expected to be made in the near future.

Curran-Freiere is expected to take place at Bellator 123, which is scheduled for September 5th at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The fight will air live on Spike TV.
