Today on Fight Network Radio, host Mauro Ranallo learned from inside sources that Lyoto Machida will be fighting UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans at UFC 99 and not Quinton “Rampage” Jackson as originally anticipated.

After Jackson ‘s win this past weekend over Keith Jardine and his in-ring standoff with Evans, it was widely expected that Jackson would face Evans at UFC 99 to replace the original main event of Frank Mir versus Brock Lesnar, which Mir withdrew from due to undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.

It was announced by Ranallo on Fight Network Radio today on SIRIUS 98, Hardcore Sports Radio, which is also simulcast online at www.hardcoresportsradio.com that sources indicate that it will in fact be Machida facing Evans at UFC 99.
