According to numerous reports, respected MMA trainer Shawn Tompkins passed away on Sunday morning, August 14, 2011.

While the cause of death is unknown, it is being alleged that Tompkins, 37 years of age, did not wake up on Sunday morning while in Canada with his brother-in-law Sam Stout and longtime pupil Mark Hominick.

Tomkins has helped many MMA fighters to the big leagues, including Stout, Hominick and Chris Horodecki.

Tomkins worked for a while as a head trainer for Xtreme Couture, also working the corner for MMA legend Randy Couture for several of the Hall Of Famers UFC fights.
