Robbie Lawler Vs. Joey Villasenor Set For Nov. 8th EliteXC

During the Friday Night broadcast of ShoXC on showtime, the announcement was made that EliteXC middleweight champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler will be defending his title against “Smokin” Joey Villasenor.

The two have faced on once before at Pride 32 in Las Vegas in 2006, Lawler knocked out Villasenor in the first round with a highlight reel flying knee KO.

The Pride 32 started a string of six straight fights in which Lawler has gone undefeated, winning the title and dispatching of Frank Trigg, “Ninja” Rua, and Scott Smith.

Villasenor finds himself getting another shot at the EXC strap since losing in a title fight with Rua for the vacant title. Since then, he has won three straight, KOing Phil Baroni in his last outing.
