UFC recently announced the main event of the upcoming UFC Fight Night 54 event, which takes place on October 4th. Top-ranked UFC Welterweight contender Rory MacDonald (17-2) will headline the show against highly-regarded Tarec Saffiedine (15-3).

MacDonald is riding a two-fight win streak, beating Tyron Woodley and Demian Maia in his last two trips to the Octagon.

Saffiedine is currently on a five-fight win streak, with his most notable win coming over Nate Marquardt in his final Strikeforce fight. Since joining the UFC, Saffiedine has gone 1-0, picking up a decision win over Hyun Gyu Lim in January.
