Rory MacDonald vs. Tarec Saffiedine To Headline UFC Fight Night 54

UFC recently announced the main event of the upcoming UFC Fight Night 54 event, which takes place on October 4th. Top-ranked UFC Welterweight contender Rory MacDonald (17-2) will headline the show against highly-regarded Tarec Saffiedine (15-3).

MacDonald is riding a two-fight win streak, beating Tyron Woodley and Demian Maia in his last two trips to the Octagon.

Saffiedine is currently on a five-fight win streak, with his most notable win coming over Nate Marquardt in his final Strikeforce fight. Since joining the UFC, Saffiedine has gone 1-0, picking up a decision win over Hyun Gyu Lim in January.

UFC Fight Night 54 takes place on October 4, 2014 at the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
