Rumor: Joe Stevenson Vs. Mac Danzig In The Works

0

MMANews.com forum administrator Smoogy caught the XMMA 7 PPV this weekend and caught quite the news tidbit from Mauro Ranallo during the broadcast.

According to Ranallo, Joe Stevenson and Mac Danzig are being paird together for a future match up that will likely lead to one or the other leaving the UFC.

MMANews.com was able to get in contact with a member of the Stevenson camp and they confirmed that the bout has been mentioned but that nothing has been signed at the time of this writing.

Both fighters are coming off losses and while Stevenson did look impressive in his outting against Diego Sanchez, he has lost his last three of his last four fights, all against top contenders in the lightweight division. Danzig has lost his last two and has looked less than impressive in those outtings. The TUF 6 winner has only won once since winning the show, an April 2008 win over Mark Bocek in Montreal at UFC 83

According the to Stevenson rep, The Ultimate Fighter 2 winner is looking for an early summer return to the Octagon.
