Loretta Hunt and TheFightNetwork.com is reporting that Thierry Rameau Sokoudjou has accepted a fight with Ricardo Arona for the upcoming PRIDE 34 “Kamikaze” show scheduled for April 8th at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
Sokoudjou debuted with PRIDE as an unknown trainer of new Middleweight (and Welterweight) champion Dan Henderson at PRIDE 33, shocking the MMA world with a huge upset knockout of top-ranked Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
Sokoudjou will prove his debut was no fluke as he challenges another top-ranked 205 lb. fighter, also from the Brazilian Top Team – in Ricardo Arona.
Since Henderson won't be fighting due to a hand injury, this fight he will be in Sokoudjou's corner, unlike at PRIDE 33 where he was busy preparing for his main event bout with former champion Vanderlei Silva.
