In addition to the B.J. Penn vs. Jon Fitch welterweight clash that was confirmed by UFC president Dana White at the UFC 123 post-fight press conference on Saturday night in Auburn Hills, Michigan, a big lightweight battle was also made official.

George Sotiropoulos vs. Dennis Siver was also announced by the UFC boss, and will join Penn-Fitch on the UFC 127 fight card scheduled for February 27 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.

White mentioned that the Penn-Fitch winner would definitely be in the UFC welterweight title picture, which could potentially lead to a third Penn vs. Georges St-Pierre showdown, if all the cards fall in the right place.
