The Long Awaited Debut: Exclusive Interview With Max McNeely

0

Coming into 2016 “Mad” Max McNeely was ready to make his professional MMA debut and take the Heavyweight division by storm. After being sidetracked by issues outside of the cage that prevented him from debuting last month, McNeely is eager to make his debut. He will finally get that opportunity Saturday October 15th at Shamrock FC 277 from the Lumiere Casino in St. Louis, MO. The man standing between McNeely and a successful professional debut is the always scrappy Bo Kunz (3-2), who is fighting for the last time.

It’s not hard to find some of Max McNeely’s fights, he has them all over YouTube. Watch just one and you will see that Max is not your prototypical Heavyweight. While he doesn’t shy away from throwing hands, he is very gifted on the ground. Something that has come naturally to him, “… I train all of it. I just took to the jiu jitsu more. I grew up a wrestler. The way I always looked at it, jiu jitsu was just a continuation of wrestling. Ya know, you get taken down, your not done for. I seemed to take to it. I’ve got good striking too. I’m looking to show off some of that in this fight too, but I’ve always got that ground in my back pocket if I need it.”

Listen to the full interview and find out what it was like for Max to walk into an MMA gym on day 1, his thoughts on weight cutting, and who he thinks will win this Saturday between Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping. Check out Max’s professional debut as he headlines Shamrock FC 277 on October 15th from the Lumiere Casino in St. Louis, MO against Bo Kunz.
