The Las Vegas Journal reports that middleweight fighters Tim Kennedy and Yoel Romero will square off at the UFC 178 pay-per-view scheduled for September 27th from Las Vegas.

Kennedy is riding a 4-fight winning streak, including three since joining UFC (previously fighting for Strikeforce). He had two unsuccesful bids at the Strikeforce Middleweight title.

Romero, a freestyle wrestling Olympian who took the gold at the 1999 world championships, is 4-0 in the UFC.

The UFC 178 main event will see Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones defending against Alexander Gustaffson in a rematch from their fight at 1645, which saw Jones secure a victory by decision.
