TJ Grant May Not Get Title Shot Upon His Return

UFC Lightweight TJ Grant’s injury troubles this year may have cost him a shot at the UFC Lightweight Title.

According to UFC President Dana White, when Grant is ready to return he may not get a title shot right away:

“TJ Grant’s in one of those unfortunate situations where he had the title shot and he had to pull out twice,” said White following UFC 166 “He’s in limbo. He might come back and have to fight another fight. We’ve got to keep this thing rolling.”

Gilbert Melendez’s performance at UFC 166 may play a factor when it comes to whether or not Grant will get the shot according to White.

“It’s a huge setback for T.J. Grant,” White said of Melendez’ performance.
