Silver State and Golden State Set to Battle at the

First Sanctioned Amateur Mixed Martial Arts Event in Las Vegas

Event set for the Tropicana Hotel & Casino on April 12

LAS VEGAS — March 25, 2008 — The next generation of mixed martial arts stars will be at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino on April 12 in the first sanctioned amateur mixed martial arts event held on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip.

The competition will pit some of the best fighters from the Golden State and the Silver State together in the same ring for the battle of the west. Many of California’s best have trained at the legendary Pit Academy with well-known mixed martial arts champion Chuck Liddell. Meanwhile, Nevada’s best scrappy fighters hail from the unofficial capital of mixed martial arts fighting — Las Vegas.

“Xtreme Couture, Las Vegas Boxing and Cobra Kai are ready to defend their home turf against the Pit Academy and California’s best,” said Barry Meyer, President of TUFF-N-UFF, promoters of the event. “It’s going to be a historic night for amateur mixed martial arts.”

The Fight Card, subject to change, currently features 24 bouts, including Super Heavyweight and Female fights.

“The winners will be invited to compete at the next show, tentatively scheduled for May 23, to crown champions and help us find fighters to debut on our professional shows,” Meyer added. “We look forward to giving amateur athletes an avenue to demonstrate their skills and have the opportunity to move on to follow their dreams.”

Tickets for the event are priced starting at only $25 and are available at the Tropicana Hotel & Casino box office at 800-521-8767 and all Las Vegas Nutrition Centers. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the first bout is set for 7:00 p.m. For more information on the event, please visit www.tuffnuff.net.

Founded in 1994, TUFF-N-UFF Productions received one of the first mixed martial arts promotional licenses in Nevada. TUFF-N-UFF has promoted Shooto, the first MMA tournament in Nevada, and co-promoted Chuck Norris’ World Combat League, Bodog Fight, and the ADCC North American qualifiers.
