Rafael dos Anjos will not be defending his lightweight title this coming March 5 at UFC 196 due to an injured left foot.
Dos Anjos, who was replaced in the main event by Nate Diaz to battle Conor McGregor, posted a picture of the injury on social media.
“Sorry to all my real fans and (the) UFC,” he wrote. “I have 32 professional fights on my career and I never cancel any fight due to injuries, but it is a contact sport and injuries happen.”
