UFC Fight Night 24 Results And Analysis

UFC Fight Night 24 is now in the books, and not only was it an exciting event, it was also a record breaking night.

In the Spike telecasts opening bout Chan Sung Jung took to the octagon as a late replacement for Nam Phan to rematch Leonard Garcia, who earned what many consider a gift decision win against “The Korean Zombie” back at WEC 48.

Tonight however, there would be zero controversy fixed to the outcome. After a competitive first round that saw Garcia utilize a discipline rarely seen by the Texas representative, Jung took over. The second round saw some nice exchanges, but the South Korean native took complete control as the round wound down, and, remarkably made UFC history as he trapped Garcia in the incredibly rare Twister submission; the only Twister ever successfully executed within the confines of the octagon. The contorted Garcia had absolutely no option but to tap.

It was a stellar start to a thrilling evening that saw prospects continue to grow, and upsets unfold.

Next to the cage were two past “The Ultimate Fighter” standouts; Amir Sadollah and DaMarques Johnson. The first frame packed more action than half of Sadollah
