UFC Plans 5 Shows In Canada For 2014

5

The UFC has bumped their live shows in Canada from three per year to five. While the promotion plans to return to Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, they will also visit Quebec City, QC and Halifax, NS for the first time. It will also mark the first time a UFC event has been held in the Atlantic Provinces.

“On a per-capita basis, no nation in the world consumes MMA like we do,” Tom Wright, director of UFC Operations in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, said in an interview. “The fact we’ve been able to go from three events to five events is a reflection of that.

“We’ll have three of the (UFC’s) 13 pay-per-views (in 2014).”

The list of events is as follows:

– The Ultimate Fighter Nations: Canada vs. Australia Finale on April 16th at Le Colisee Pepsi in Quebec City, QC
– UFC 174 on June 14th at The Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC
– UFC 178 on September 27th at The Air Canada Center in Toronto, Ont
– UFC Fight Night on October 4th at The Metro Center in Halifax, NS
– UFC 181 on December 6th at The Bell Centre in Montreal, QC
