Dana White Says GSP Vs. BJ Penn Moved To Superbowl Weekend

Dana White has told Yahoo! Sports that the highly anticipated rematch between UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre and UFC Lightweight CHampion BJ Penn will most likely take place on January 31st, 2009 when the UFC holds is annual Superbowl Saturday show.

MMANews.com first had the scoop on the proposed move to Superbowl Weekend last week when sources close to the Penn camp told us that although BJ was training for a December fight, the superfight would most likely happen in early 2009.

St. Pierre, who defeated Penn is a three round classic at UFC 58, has also gone on record and stated that he needed a well earned rest after fighting 4 times in 13 months. He told RDS.ca that he looked to return to action in early 2009.
