The following is a new blurb posted on the official website of former WEC lightweight champion Jamie Varner:

“So my next fight will be a rematch with Donald Cerrone I hope to be the co-main sept 30. So any questions that were left after the last fight will be answered sept 30”

This news comes just one week after Varner's camp denied the rumors of a rematch with “Cowboy” Cerrone.

Despite the confusion, it seems all but official that Varner-Cerrone II will co-headline the WEC 51 card, along with the confirmed Jose Aldo vs. Manny Gamburyan title fight we reported on last week.

WEC 51 emanates from the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado on September 30. The event will be broadcast on the Versus cable channel.
