As noted, UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor met with UFC President Dana White this week regarding their recent issues. Shortly after the meeting, White posted a “smiley face” on social media. Meanwhile, McGregor took part in the interview seen above.
McGregor spoke with ESPN’s Kenny Mayne about his meeting with the UFC boss man on Wednesday evening.
“Good conversation like it always is,” McGregor said of the meeting. “We have a good relationship. It is what it is. It happens. This is the fight game. Sometimes emotions get into it. But it’s important to recognize that emotions have no place in business. That’s essentially what it was last night. We just set it aside. There’s no place for emotions in this. We are doing beautiful things. So let’s continue. Let’s fix it and let’s continue.”
When asked by Mayne where on a football field his current relationship with White and Lorenzo Fertitta would be, McGregor’s razor-sharp wit returned.
“Sitting in the middle,” McGregor replied. “In a good place.”
When pressed by Mayne and asked if things between he and the UFC are better than before, McGregor stated the following.
“Yeah, of course,” McGregor said. “Of course.”
