Ronda Rousey was named the Best Female Athlete of 2014 at Wednesday night’s ESPY Awards.
She beat out WNBA Minnesota Lynx forward Maya Moore, alpine ski racer Mikaela Shiffrin and University of Connecticut basketball star Breanna Stewart. It’s the first time Rousey was nominated for the award.
The ESPY Awards is an annual ceremony hosted by ESPN that celebrates the best in professional sports. The nominees are chosen by fans, sports writers, broadcasters, sports executives and athletes. The winners are selected exclusively by online fan voting.
Congratulations to Ronda Rousey!
