Matt Hughes, Matt Serra and Mac Danzig are among those who will be keeping blogs throughout the duration of The Ultimate Fighter season six. Below are some excerpts from all three discussing the premiere episode.
Well, here we go with episode numero uno…
Alot of the drama in this episode was built around the “rivalry” between Matt Serra and Matt Hughes. Serra totally plays into this and lets everyone know exactly how he feels about Hughes. While, on the other hand, Hughes plays it cool and acts like he doesn't care. Truth is, these are just two completely different people from completely different backgrounds, and with all the differences between the two, it's easy to get some friction going.
There was definitely an awkwardness between the two whenever they had to be around each other and you could feel it in the air… Not just between Hughes and Serra, but the assistant coaches on both sides as well.

I’m baaaaaack. I had such a good time blogging for Newsday during Season Four of The Ultimate Fighter, that when I was asked to give my thoughts on this season, I jumped at the chance. Hope you guys enjoy having me for a 2nd go round.
As you all know by now, I am a coach on this season of The Ultimate Fighter. I jumped at the opportunity when Dana approached me about it. Having done the show as a contestant on Season 4, I was in a unique position to be asked to be a coach later on. No one else had done that, and I thought it’d be a good experience. Plus, given that I had lived in isolation in that house for six weeks, I felt I could relate to whoever was on my team better having lived it myself.

A lot of people have asked me what they should expect from season six of The Ultimate Fighter, and I’ve got to say that there are some interesting characters, as far as competitors on the show. Plus, I think I bring a good coaching staff in there and everyone’s gonna see some good coaching and definitely some good fights. But like any drama, there are gonna be some ups and downs. My team goes through some ups and downs, and so does Matt Serra’s. What you won’t see is Matt Serra and Matt Hughes acting like Tito Ortiz and Ken Shamrock. That’s not gonna happen.
This is my second run as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter, and doing this a second time definitely makes things a lot easier, something I’ll explain in the coming weeks. And though the idea of being away from my family for six weeks was tough, my wife agreed to it, and she also agreed to come out for the second half with my family. So with them coming up, I thought I could go ahead and do it. If she would have said that she wasn’t gonna come out, then I wouldn’t have done the show.
