Bagg's TUF Season 7 Try Out Monday In New Jersey

Bagg’s TUF Season 7 Try Out Monday in NJ

Sid Needelman Reporting…

In past years fighters could try out at multiple corners of the country to get their shot in the UFC‘s reality show. Last year, the evaluations included a stop at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Florida. Cole Miller did well in his tryout and earned the opportunity to catch people’s attention on the show. However this year anyone from the South East does not have the same quick drive to show their skills. There is only one tryout and it is in New Jersey.

This Monday, November 19th, tryouts will be held at the Newark Airport Hilton Hotel at 8:00 in the morning. Only fighters that can qualify for the 185-pound weight class are invited to the casting call for the seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter.

One such fighter planning to make the drive from Florida to New Jersey is David “Baggs” Baggett. Baggs, as most people call him, has been in MMA for a few years now and has also made a name for himself in grappling events as well. One notable grappling bout was against Jeff “The Snowman” Monson in the Orange Dome as the feature event.

He trains mainly out of Lakeland, Florida, but recently spent some time training in Southern Florida with some great BJJ and striking guys to give him a little change up in training. He has been working hard especially in the last few weeks and plans to make some kind of impression on Dana White as well as executive producer of The Ultimate Fighter, Craig Piligian, Spike TV’s Co-Executive Producer and Senior Vice President of Sports and Specials, Brian J. Diamond.

Braggs would like to thank New Breed Fight gear, “Diamond Dave,” Champions MMA, Ross Kellin and Boca Del Riva, for helping him get ready for Monday.

Hopefully when this season’s show is scheduled to begin taping in Las Vegas in January 2008, David Baggett will be amongst the young hopefuls.
