It was announced during the UFC 78 “Validation” post-fight press conference that world Middleweight champion Anderson Silva's next title defense will be against the man everyone was hoping would drop down in weight to take the fight.
Former PRIDE 205 lb. champion, and current PRIDE 185 lb. champion Dan Henderson will drop down in 205 lbs., despite his claims that he'd prefer to stick around at Light Heavyweight, to fight one of the top pound for pound fighters in the world in Anderson Silva.
The fight is expected to take place in March of 2008, with Silva's 185 lb. title on the line against who would have to be considered his most dangerous (no pun intended) challenger – Dan Henderson.
