Bao Quach Replaces Mark Hominick At Affliction On 1/24

Pamela Rogers sent along the following:

Seal Beach, CA (January 14, 2009)–Twenty nine-year old Mixed Martial Artist Bao Quach is replacing Mark Hominick, who is suffering from pneumonia, in a bout against LC Davis for the upcoming Affliction M-1 “Day of Reckoning.” Described by his trainer Colin Oyama as a “gym rat,” Bao is enjoying a nine-fight win streak and is training day and night for the fight, which is part of the stacked undercard set for January 24th at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Bao started wrestling in high school and continued to wrestle throughout his college years. He is an all-around great fighter with a strong background that includes five years of wrestling, six years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and two years of Muay Thai experience. He has fought fifteen professional MMA bouts and is currently undefeated in Muay Thai competition. Boa is currently ranked number 8 in the world by the famous SHOOTO MMA organization and is the recent winner of the 140-pound ICON Championship. He is a member of Team Oyama out of Irvine, California.

Bao’s normal training regimen includes training 2-3 times a day–Muay Thai in the morning, and submission wrestling and MMA at night. On Mondays,

Wednesdays, and Fridays, Bao trains conditioning. Even with his already incredible dedication to training, Bao is stepping up his efforts in preparation for

“Day of Reckoning.” “I have been training day and night for this fight. I've been going down to Millenia to spar with some of their top guys. I've also been going down to Rancho Santa Margarita to train wrestling with Fernando Serratos. I train strength and conditioning Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays with my conditioning coach Brandon Bovee. At night I train with my team guys from Team Oyama.” The commitment should add excitement to his bout with LC Davis and to the entire night of blockbuster fights on January 24th at Honda Center.

Promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and brought to you by Affliction Entertainment and its partners, Donald J. Trump and M-1 Global, Affliction M-1 “Day of Reckoning” is scheduled for January 24 a Honda Center in Anaheim, CA and live on Pay-Per-View.
