Ken Shamrock Tests Positive For Steroids Following February Fight

The California State Athletic Commission has issued a statement regarding Ken Shamrock testing positive for three different steroids following his February 13th win, his first in nearly 5 years, over near 400lb Ross Clifton in the main event of the first WarGods show.

Shamrock tested positive for Norandrosterone, Noretiocholanolone, and Stanozolol.

Shamrock faces a suspension retroactive to the date of the bout, which will run from Feb. 13, 2009 to Feb. 1, 2010. The UFC Hall of Famer and former King of Pancrase will also face a $2,500 fine imposed from the commission. He has the right to appeal the decision.

The commission stated will not make anymore comments on the situation pending the reply of Shamrock.

The news comes right after it was announced Ken Shamrock would be fighting Bobby Lashley on March 21st on Roy Jone's Jr's boxing/MMA hybrid show last week. The bout may not be in jeopardy.
