DREAM Announces 2nd Round Match Ups For Featherweight GP

Fighting & Entertainment Group has officially announced the 2nd round match ups for the DREAM 2009 Featherweight Grand Prix. The fights will take place on May 26 at DREAM.9 at the Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa, Japan.

The main event of the evening will feature the return of Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto, who has been out of action since late 2007, because of Olympic wrestling training and various injuies. Yamamoto will square off against Olympic wrestler and MMA newcomer Joe Warren. Warren made a successful MMA debut by defeated former WEC Bantamweight Champion Chase Beebe in the 1st round of the Featherweight Grand Prix.

In other tournament bouts we'll see leglock wizard Masakazu Imanari go up against Brazilian Jiu Jitsu expert Bibiano Fernandes. In a match between former WEC fighters, Yoshiro Maeda will face Hiroyuki Takaya. Lastly, Hideo Tokoro gets a second chance in the tournament, as he replaces injured Daiki “DJ.taiki” Hata in a fight against former EliteXC title contender Abel Cullum.
