Canadian Fighting Championship 3 Taking Shape For Nov. 13th
By. Chris Howie
The third installment for The Canadian Fighting Championships (CFC) is beginning to take shape and it now appears the main event and semi-main event of the evening are set for the November 13th show which will take place in Winnepeg, Manitoba.
Sources close to both fights have informed MMANews.com that undefeated heavyweight prospect Rodrigo Munduruca (6-0) will take on UFC veteran and The Ultimate Fighter 2 contestant Dan Christison (16-7) in the main event while Claude Patrick (9-1) will tangle with Dan Grandmaison (9-6) in the semi main event.
Munduruca will look to keep his undefeated streak alive when he challenges Christison who is 8-1 in his last nine bouts. The big Canadian has finished all six of his fights, two with a knock out and four by way of submission. Christison will look to put together consecutive victories after having a seven fight win streak snapped by Marcio “Pe De Pano” Cruz in April. His last fight in June seen him pick up a first round TKO over Joel Traves.
The semi main event will see Patrick, who hasn’t lost since 2002 and is riding an eight fight win streak challenge Grandmaison who has fought a who’s who of Canadian MMA fighters but has found himself on the losing end of those bouts. He is now riding a three fight win streak with his last bout coming in February – which ended abruptly when his opponent Markhhaile Wedderburn suffered a freak knee injury.
It is also expected that the best referee in the business, “Big” John McCarthy will be on hand to ref the night’s action and Canadian sports network “The Score” will be filming the card to air in the future.
