Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem made his long awaited return to Strikeforce last night to defend his title and in impression fashion, disposed of Brett Rogers in the first round of their match up.
Following the bout Overeem was clear that he wanted to fight Fedor Emelienanko in his next bout but Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker reminded everyone not to count Fabricio Werdum out when they fight on June 26th:
“To be very honest, the situation with Fedor (Emelianenko) is that he's fighting June 26. Of course, we'll have to wait and see what happens. Alistair (Overeem) has told me many times he would love to fight Fedor. He has called Fedor out in Japan when he fights in Japan all the time. He's looking forward to taking the fight. That's going to be something where we'll have to sit down with him after the June 26 fight. Like I said, you can't count Fabricio (Werdum) out.”
