After yesterday's news that a rematch between Jamie Varner vs. Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone will join the Jose Aldo vs. Manny Gamburyan featherweight title fight at WEC 51, today it's being reported that another appealing bout has been added to the September line-up.
The official Twitter page of WEC lightweight fighter Ed Ratcliff was updated today with the following tweet: “About to put a serious beatdown on horodecki on sep 30th. Im jus sayin!”
If you're willing to take Ratcliff's word on it, you can now pencil in former IFL stand-out Chris Horodecki vs. Ed Ratcliff on the ever-growing card scheduled to take place at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
Horodecki (15-2) is coming off a win in his last outing against Daniel Downes at WEC 49 in June, after coming up short in his WEC debut against Anthony Njokuani back in December of 2009. Horodecki looks to improve above his .500 batting average inside the WEC cage on the upcoming September card.
Meanwhile, Ratcliff (7-2), is coming off a loss in his last bout, as another fighter on the WEC 51 line-up, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, submitted Ratcliff back in December of 2009 at WEC 45. Ratcliff is 3-2 in his WEC tenure thus far, and looks to avoid dropping to the .500 average that his opponent on September 30 currently carries.
WEC 51 “Aldo vs. Gamburyan” is set to emanate from the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, Colorado on September 30. The featured attractions of the evening are scheduled to air live on the Versus cable channel.
