A rumored light heavyweight contest between Quinton “Ramapge” Jackson Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida is now official for November 20th.
UFC President Dana White confirmed the main event and location during UFC 118 weekend. Detroit, Michigan is the city that will house the fight that will see two top 205lb. contenders match up in the stacked division.
Both fighters are coming of losses, Jackson to Rashad Evans in a grudge match from their time spent as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter, and Machida to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in which he lost the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.
MMAWeekly.com also reports that Pittsburgh, PA was on the short list of cities to host UFC 123 as well, but scheduling conflicts forced them out of the running.
