Bellator Fighting Championships lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez finally has an official date for his current defense of the title: April 1st. His challenger will be second season tournament winner Pat Curran.
Curran fought his way through a handful of tough opponents to earn a shot at Alvarez, including the rejuvenated Toby Imada and hard hitting UFC castaway Roger Huerta.
Curran was initially scheduled to challenge Alvarez at Bellator 33, but a shoulder injury put the breaks on the affair. Roger Huerta filled in for Curran, and was easily bullied by the current champion en route to a second round TKO.
With Curran healed and ready to go, Bellator 39 looks to be the event in which we
