After two years away from the sport, tough New Yorker and one-time UFC fan favorite Pete Sell got back to business at Ring of Combat 36 yesterday.
Sell headlined the stacked fifteen fight card, as he took on Elijah “The Hero” Harshbarger.
Sell survived an ugly first round to rally and take the welterweight title from Harshbarger in the second frame. Despite being mounted and controlled soundly in the opening stanza, Sell remained calm, weathered the storm, and came out with the fire that made him a UFC favorite just a few years ago.
Midway through the second frame “Drago” secured a tight armbar, which forced Harshbarger to tap, rewarding Sell the welterweight title.
Not too shabby considering this man spent two years away from action.
