According to multiple sources, the rumored bout between Fedor Emelianenko (31-4) and Jeff Monson (42-12) is now official for November 20.
M-1 Global will promote the bout, which will headline the the 11/20 card in Moscow, Russia.
While no U.S. television is announced at this point, reports claim M-1 Global is currently in negotiations to air the bout on U.S. television, likely on the Showtime premium-cable network.
Fedor will come into the fight on a three-fight losing streak, dropping consecutive fights to Dan Henderson, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Fabricio Werdum under the Strikeforce banner. It will be Fedor's first fight in Russia since his 2007 victory over middleweight Matt Lindland.
Monson comes into the fight off a loss to rising heavyweight prospect Daniel Cormier. Prior to that decision loss back in June, Monson was riding an eight-fight winning streak, dating back to July of 2010.
