MMANEWS.COM BLOG: Rampage/Jones, Diaz, Fedor, Mayweather

By MMA MANIAC

The following is an excerpt from a new MMANEWS.COM Blog by our own MMAManiac:

It's been awhile.

No kidding. It feels like it's been almost a year since I last posted on MMAnews.com I was really starting to enjoy writing on a frequent basis when all of a sudden I was hit with a new career path which has kept me very occupied over the past 6 months. Although, I have remained a loyal MMA fan, I haven't been in the position to write about it as much as before. It has certainly been a task to adjust to my new life and hopefully I can create a balance to be able to do this more often than not, that's my plan anyway. Whew… So much to catch up on since my last blog. Let's just take a look at some of that tonight and I'll give you my thoughts on some of the top stories of 2011. Hopefully after this I can start writing regularly again.

Strikeforce=UFC

I can't say this was a complete shocker, but it did catch me a little off-guard. It's very obvious that Strikeforce will no longer be around after this year. The finale of the Grand Prix could very well be the last major card and has already began it's merger by ripping all of the major talent out of the company so far and the remains will probably end up with ProElite. Can't believe I just said that. Anyways, I can't say I'm jumping for joy over this because I did enjoy watching solid cards on Showtime without paying PPV price and it gave the fighters options in fighting for another decent company.
