UFC featherweight contender Tyson Griffin failed to make weight for his scheduled bout against Bart Palaszewski at Saturday's UFC 137: “Diaz vs. Penn” event.
Griffin, who weighed in at 149 pounds for his initial attempt on the broadcasted version of the official UFC 137 weigh-ins, managed to drop only one additional pound for his next weigh-in attempt after the initial proceedings concluded.
Griffin's final official weigh-in attempt came in at 148 pounds. His scheduled opponent – Palaszewski – agreed to a 148-pound catch weight bout for Saturday night. As a result, Griffin will be fined 25-percent of his fight purse.
