Nick Diaz will likely face the Nevada State Athletic Commission in April according to NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer who spoke to MMAJunkie.com about Diaz's positive drug test following UFC 143.
Diaz, who fought Carlos Condit for the interim UFC Welterweight title and lost via decision, was popped on his test not for a PED such as Steroids, but instead for Marijuana which is deemed a drug of abuse.
Diaz could face up see his suspension last as long as one year or six months as Kizer also talked about past occurrences:
“In the past, the norm for a positive test for marijuana is six months, but we have had two repeat offenders and they both got a 12-month suspension,” he said. “But that doesn't necessarily mean that's what will happen here.”
