Anthony Pettis: “CM Punk Will Walk Me To The Cage, But Won’t Be In My Corner”

UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis recently confirmed the rumors that former WWE Superstar CM Punk will be walking him to the Octagon for his title defense against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185.

In speaking with MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani, Pettis said that Punk, who will make his UFC and MMA fighting debut at some point in the near future, will be walking him to the cage, but will not be cornering him for the fight.

“Yes, he will be walking with me out to the cage,” said Pettis. “He’s not going to corner me, obviously. He still has some stuff to learn.”

Pettis continued, “He offered to come out and I think having as many people out here as possible helps me feel comfortable, feel like I’m back at home.”

The UFC 155-pound champ concluded, “He’s a very cool guy. He’s so humble.”
