At the UFC 189 “World Tour” press conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Friday, two big fights were made official for upcoming fight cards.
In addition to the Ronda Rousey vs. Bethe Correia fight for Rousey’s UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship, which will serve as the main event of the show, a contender bout in the same division was announced for June.
While Rousey initially said Miesha Tate vs. Jessica Eye would take place on the same card at UFC 190, it was later corrected by UFC President Dana White, who stated that the Tate-Eye bout will be taking place “sometime in June.”
During the “World Tour” press conference, Rousey pointed out that she expects to fight the winner of the Tate-Eye bout after she gets past Correia.
UFC 190 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
