Jon Jones Says Rematch With Gustafsson Is More Important To Him Than Cormier Fight

Jon Jones recently announced that he wants a rematch with Alexander Gustafsson who he defeated in a war in 2013 via decision. In an interview with MMAjunkie, Jones explained that he would rather take that rematch than his upcoming rematch with Daniel Cormier at UFC 197.

“I have those feelings a little more with Gustafsson than I do with Daniel,” Jones said of his two former opponents. “I already beat (Cormier) by unanimous decision, so I don’t really have this feeling where I have to put him away or get rid of him once and for all. I just need to fight him because he has the belt right now. That’s really what this is all about for me. I feel that way more about Gustafsson. I really need to fight him again just to get rid of all doubt.”

UFC 197 takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 23rd, 2016.
